Pandonia Global Network (PGN)¶
The pandonia gatherer downloads direct-sun and zenith-sky spectrometer measurements of atmospheric trace gas column densities from the Pandonia Global Network.
Overview¶
- Provider: Pandonia Global Network (NASA / ESA / LuftBlick)
- Official Network Website: pandonia-global-network.org
- Data Archive & Realtime Portal: data.pandonia-global-network.org
- API Key Request: PGN Contact / Access Request Form
- Coverage: Global network of ~150 Pandora spectrometer instruments
- Observations: Total and tropospheric vertical column densities (VCD)
- Authentication: Requires free PGN API key
- Output Format: ASCII / BZ2 compressed data tables

Authentication Setup¶
Request a free API key via the PGN Contact Form. Alternatively, direct public archive downloads are available on data.pandonia-global-network.org.
# Save to credentials.yaml
gathering auth login pandonia -p "your_api_key"
# Or set in environment
export PANDONIA_API_KEY="your_api_key"
Python API Usage¶
from gathering import Task
task = Task.pandonia(
station="Thessaloniki",
start_date="2023-05-01",
end_date="2023-05-21",
product=["fnvh3", "fzo3"],
)
results = task.run()
CLI Usage¶
gathering pandonia \
--station Thessaloniki \
--product fnvh3 fzo3 \
--start_date 2023-05-01 \
--end_date 2023-05-21
